Gold Coast - Monday

We're here!

We are all very excited (especially Amy) to be on the Gold Coast.

We had a smooth drive to the air port with very little traffic.  Jack slept on the way which worked out well.  After offloading our bags we enjoyed some lunch.  As we arrived at our boarding gate they started boarding straight away so we didn't have to wait.  Right place at the right time.
Both Amy and Jack were very good on the flight.  Amy was entertained by Michael's ipad/tablet and her new headphones (which she sometimes calls 'head goggles').  Jack was entertained buy a young boy who was sitting in the seat in front of us.  He was turning around and trying to touch Jack,  which seemed to amuse both of them for quite a while.  There was also a nice lady sitting behind us who was giving Jack tickles as he peered through a gap in the seats.
Jack fell asleep as the plane landed (must have been a smooth touchdown) but he wasn't able to sleep for long. He didn't mind.
Our hire car is great,  and has a GPS which has already come in handy. Both kids slept on the way to the hotel.  Amy was absolutely exhausted.  So much excitement.
Our hotel room is spectacular.  The views are incredible and the room is huge.  We have a giant spa bath and a full kitchen and laundry.  The balcony overlooks the beach and city. We have two bedrooms which are also enormous.
Michael went grocery shopping while I unpacked our bags and set up the portacots. We had dinner and quickly settled Amy and Jack down for sleep. Amy was asleep within minutes and Jack fell asleep in my arms as he finished his bottle.
