Happy birthday Jack!

You're 2 already?!?

Jack has changed so much in the last couple of months. He's really come out of the baby phase and into toddler world! He's actually pretty calm and easy going and I hope that continues. He's become quite chatty. I spend half the day trying to work out what he's saying. It's a bit of a guessing game when his pronunciation is a bit off. But I love that he's trying so hard to communicate. He says heaps of words, and new ones every day. Its great that the can understand a lot more now. I try and talk to him as I would to Amy so that his speech can develop further.
Jack loves playing with matchbox cars. He could spend all day just driving them around, and putting them in little doors and down ramps. He's trying to say the different colours of his cars too. He says blue, but pronounces it "poo", which makes Amy laugh.
He's also learning some names of shapes. He knows how to say star, oval and diamond (which gets pronounced "die-dee").
Jack loves to move his body as much as he can. Climbing, running, and dancing make him very happy. He loves music and we all dance together. Amy and I laugh as we copy Jack's clever moves.
We are phasing out Jack's bottles and replacing them with sippy cups. He doesn't mind and often prefers the cup now. His self feeding skills (with a spoon) have really improved lately, and he likes to drink from an open cup at dinner time, just like Amy.
Happy birthday little Jack. You brighten our lives and fill up our hearts.

Birthday party!

Everyone had a great time and Amy and Jack's birthday party. Here's lots of photos!

Happy birthday Amy!

Amy is 4!

What a funny, smart and sweet little girl we have. Amy is a busy little 4 year old who loves to chat all day long. We love pretend-play and making up games and stories together. Amy loves Paw Patrol and now has many of their toys. We read together and she knows countless words. Her memory is amazing and she has such a thirst for knowledge. Amy will stay in day care for one more year, before starting kindergarten in 2019.
Amy loves to explore the world. We often go to parks and she loves inventing games and climbing on big rocks.
She's such a caring big sister, and teaches Jack lots of new skills. At the dinner table, we ask Amy to teach Jack how to eat his vegetables. She gets Jack's attention and shows him how she eats them. Mostly, Jack will copy or try a new vegetable.
Amy loves playing dress ups and pretending to be a princess or ballerina. She prance around the room and we comment on how beautiful she is.
She's getting very excited amount Christmas now, and is trying to learn the lyrics to 'Santa Claus is coming to town'.
Amy loves to draw and wrote. She has been busy sending letters to people and loves getting replies. Her pen control is getting much better, and I've noticed her letters are becoming smaller. She often writes in capital letters and is learning some lower case too.
Her drawings are often cute people with big smiles. She likes to add flowers and hearts and draws treasure maps too.
Happy 4th birthday Amy, we love you more than words can say.
