Bateau Bay

We had a lovely little getaway to Bateau Bay on the Central Coast last week.
We stayed at a great holiday park right on the beach. They had a nice play area and a really good pool and spa. Amy enjoyed the beach and collecting sea shells in her bucket. She had running races with Michael, and would always win.
Jack and I explored the rock pools. He loved splashing his feet in the water and walking on the rock platforms. He's doing much better with sand but still isn't overly keen on getting it on his hands.
We met Sal, Tracie, Ethan and Ben for dinner on the first night. The kids had so much fun playing together, and loved running around the outdoor dining/playground area.
Michael bought Amy a kite at the shops, and they had a lovely time flying it in the strong wind by the beach. Amy was so proud to be able to hold the line by herself. She flew the kite very well and had a big smile on her face the whole time!
On the second night, we had dinner at the local bowling club. Amy ate ice-cream for the first time, and said it was "yummy".
After the 2 nights it was time to leave, much to Amy's disappointment. We will definitely go back again, we had a lot of fun.
Jack was exhausted the next day from all the excitement.

Fete

Yesterday we went to a school fete, close to home. There was some carnival rides, second hand toy stalls, cupcakes, and children doing dace performances.
Amy squealed with excitement when she saw the rides. She went on a boat ride by herself. She was very brave! Jack, Amy and I went on the teacups, and Amy also enjoyed a jumping castle with a slide.

We found some great second hand toys. One of them was a cute pink umbrella. When we arrived home, Amy and Jack paraded around with umbrellas, pretending it was raining. Jack loved following Amy around.

Jack

He's always on the move!

We went to Nana puppies house last week and Jack loved seeing Cassie. He patted her and was very interested in watching her walk around.

Jack also loves to climb on the dining table. He he pulls the chair out from the table so he can climb up. He then stands up and stamps his feet as he walks the length of the table. I usually rescue him at this point, but I have seen him get down safely too.

Yesterday I managed to catch him as he fell backwards off the arm rest of the couch. I caught his arm and saved his head from a very nasty bump on the wooden floor.

Aside from climbing, Jack loves to play with his toy cars. He spends ages playing with them. He drives them into garage spaces, through doors and down ramps. Lots of fun!

September/October

Amy's drawing has developed recently. Her people now have a torso, whereas before it was arms and legs off a head. It's interesting to watch how her drawing changes. This picture below is of a princess, and I think it's beautiful.

The next few photos are Jack getting up to his usual shenanigans. He's always busy doing something interesting!

Amy loves 'cooking' with flour, sugar, sprinkles and water. She made a birthday cake and we put candles in it and sang 'happy birthday'. She spent about an hour stirring, pouring, weighing and cooking. She really wanted me to eat some, but unfortunately I was too full to eat any... ☺️
We made a pretend oven for her to bake her cake.

September

I have a huge amount of photos from the last couple of months. Here's some from September (I think!).

Amy likes playing with this wooden puzzle. Michael helped to teach her how the pieces go to make it flat. She tried and tried and perfected it in no time. Well done Amy!

Amy with the dirty face is at a park we went to. She was playing in the woodchips and they were a bit too dirty! She had fun though.
Jack liked playing peekaboo with me through the holes.

Amy liked labelling her's and Jack's plate for dinner. She's even better at writing now. She's been practising a lot.

Jack was having fun eating spaghetti one day. It was quite a challenge for him, and there was a fair amount on the floor.
