Sick Amy

Poor Amy has been terribly unwell.
On Tuesday morning she woke with a 38 degree temperature. She seemed well after some nurofen but worsened again by lunch time. She was very lethargic and wouldn't eat. She had a slight cough and sniffle.
On Wednesday morning she was 39 degrees. Her temp would go down with nurofen but back up again quickly. She vomited twice and lay down most of the day.
On Thursday she was still hot but seemed to be getting a bit better. Friday she was much better but still was 38.5 degrees by lunch time. She also started coughing.
Today (Saturday) she has been coughing all day and crying. She has been 38 degrees most of the day but refused nurofen. She fell asleep around 2:30pm for a while and woke very unhappy. She agreed to have nurofen and was much happier after that.
We hope she recovers soon. She has lost weight from not eating as much. She has been very good at drinking water though. We have been having lots of cuddles, TV, books and quiet games.

Manly aquarium and beach

Today we visited the aquarium at Manly. Amy and Jack had fun exploring the tunnels and seeing lots of interesting sea life. They loved getting their hands wet and touching shells. The sharks looked scary, and we saw people scuba diving with them. That's definitely not for me!
Jack said "wow" as he looked at the large fish tanks. There was also a kids play area which was very exciting.
We had lunch and had some fun on the beach. Jack is still hesitant with sand, so he walked up and down the wharf. Amy ran in the sand and drew with sticks. We looked at sea shells and she explored under the wharf. She wanted to go in the water and we said it'd be freezing. She put her feet in and quickly came out again.
Both kids fell asleep on the way home.

Melbourne holiday

We had such a great time in Melbourne. Amy and Jack were great little travellers in the car, and we had a ball with Matt, Catherine, Rachel and Jacob.
The highlight was our day at the snow. We enjoyed tobogganing, Amy thought it was fantastic! She went down with Michael and then myself, before having many turns with Rachel. They accidentally crashed into a mud puddle, but didn't seem to mind!
Jack was brave and went on the toboggans too. He seemed to enjoy himself, then became quite tired. I cuddled him and he fell asleep in my arms (in the middle of the snow field!).
Matt and Catherine were lovely hosts, and the kids enjoyed playing together.

Lots of photos!

It's been ages (sorry!) so here's lots of photos from the past month. More to come of our trip to Melbourne.

We have all been well (despite Jack's teething). Jack had his vaccinations and did very well. Amy's doing great with her reading and learns new words all the time. She can read approximately 30 words. Her favourite word to read is 'the' and she likes to point it out when we are out and about. Funny girl!
I made them a nice large chalkboard and Michael put it up today. Amy was very happy about it, as she loves to draw and write lately.
I changed her room around to accommodate a new Lego table for her growing collection. I caught her playing Lego tonight after bed time, so I'm not sure if it'll stay in her room for long!
Jack tries to say more words now, which is great to hear. On our holiday, he kept saying the word "die" which was a bit disturbing until I realised he was pointing up and trying to say "sky".
