Happy Easter!

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend. On Friday we went to a park with my friend Kay and her gorgeous boy Benjamin. The kids had fun playing with each other.
On Saturday we went to Mum's house (Nanna puppies). Sal, Tracie, Ben and Ethan also came over. The kids enjoyed an Easter egg hunt. Amy devoured her first chocolate Easter egg. Jack loved his and put most of it in his mouth at once. The result was chocolate everywhere. Such fun though! We've had to hide the Easter eggs at home as Jack was pointing to them saying "more, more".
Mum cooked a delicious lunch and Sal set up her jumping castle. The kids played together for hours outside as the weather was so perfect.
In Easter Sunday we woke to discover the Easter bunny had left some eggs for Amy and Jack, hidden in our garden. They both had so much fun finding (and eating) the eggs. Amy ate a couple but was more interested in hiding and finding the eggs over and over. I think we did it about 15 times, maybe more. Later on in the evening I was doing the dishes while the kids watched TV after their bath. Jack was being suspiciously quiet in the corner near the toy shelf. I went over to check what he was doing. He had found one of the eggs Amy had hidden and forgotten about. He had bitten into the egg with the foil on (small hollow egg). So he had a mouthful of chocolate and foil. He was mad at me when I took it away but happy when I let him eat the chocolate, minus the foil...

On Monday we went to a local shopping centre to meet Duggee! Duggee is a cartoon dog that Amy and Jack enjoy watching. Amy was so surprised (and a bit shy) to see Duggee in real life!

Hunter Valley

We had a beautiful weekend in the Hunter Valley recently. My cousin was married there so we enjoyed a weekend with Nana and Pa. Blessed with beautiful weather, we were busy with lots of fun activities. Amy loved the children's attractions where we stayed, which included miniature trains and a carousel.
While riding a horse on the carousel, Amy told me that for her next turn, she would like to ride the horse with the "party hat". And by that, she meant a unicorn!
The wedding was amazing and Michael and I enjoyed a special night out. We are very thankful to Norma and Brian for looking after the kids for us.

Easter Show

Wow. What a busy morning we had at the Easter show! Amy was buzzing with excitement as we entered the show and saw all the rides. She's quite a dare-devil and loves rides to go fast! She loves the giant slide and even went on a roller-coaster! We also saw some baby animals which both the kids enjoyed. Amy chose the Wiggles show bag and Jack was given an Elmo puppet, both from Pa. The Elmo puppet is very popular with both Amy and Jack. Amy loves to tell Elmo about her day or have a chat to him if she's feeling sad. She took him to bed tonight.

Pink bunny's birthday

Yesterday was Pink bunny's birthday. We made a delicious cake with icing and sprinkles. Amy and I sang the 'happy birthday' song and Amy blew out the candles for bunny.

Bounce for batten

On Friday at day care we had a jumping castle! Amy was very excited and couldn't wait to have a bounce. Across all of our 38 campuses, we had jumping castles. We were helping to raise awareness for Battens disease. Batten disease is a degenerative neurological condition that presents itself in children. It commonly robs children of their sight first. Seizures, speech and motor difficulties usually follow, which often leaves children bedridden. There is currently no known cure for this disease, which affects 1 in 100, 000 children. Our aim was to raise awareness for this disease to help one of our families at another campus, who's young daughter suffers from this condition.
By uploading as many photos of our 'jumps' as possible onto social media, we hope to break the world record of 50,000 jumps! Pictures must be taken of a person jumping with both feet off the ground, and uploaded to social media.
