Park

Today we went to a nice playground by Parramatta River.  It's relatively new so the ground surface was nice for Jack to crawl on.  He loved crawling up and down steps (head first going down,  gotta work on that...).
Amy enjoyed the swings,  slide and a thing you stand or sit on that spins around. She also had fun pushing Jack on the swing.

Water play

The weather has been so lovely and warm lately.  We have been enjoying our courtyard and Amy has been doing lots of swimming.

We went to the bicentennial Park at homebush today,  and Amy played in the water fountains.

Funny Amy

Tonight I was dressing Amy in her pyjamas. They looked like they were a bit small for her.

Me: These pyjamas are getting a bit small.  Have you been growing lots?

Amy: Yes I've been growing lots.  I've been growing out in the garden.

Amy having fun

Amy is so busy,  all the time! She wakes up around 6am each day,  ready to go!  After our morning routine of getting ready for the day,  we often go outside before it becomes too hot. This also let's Jack have a peaceful morning nap inside.
Amy rides her bike,  scooter,  car,  jumps in 'muddy puddles'  (thanks Peppa Pig),  runs,  kicks balls,  plays in her sand pit,  runs under the sprinkler,  blows bubbles,  swims in her paddling pool,  jumps on her trampoline,  and draws on her easel.
Last week she decided she wanted to do some painting. Which turned into finger painting.  Which then turned into black finger painting when all the colours became mixed.  Which turned into black face painting all over her cheeks!

Today we went to the park and fed the ducks some bread.  Amy was very excited and loved seeing some baby ducks following their mum.

Happy 1st Birthday Jack!

Happy birthday little man!  I can't believe you are already 1 year old!

We gave Jack a little blue Thomas the tank engine flip out sofa,  and a car ramp (that Amy chose for him). He loves his new presents.
As his birthday was on a Friday,  he had day care.  I made him a cake to share with his friends. Amy went into the nursery room to sing happy birthday to him,  and share the cake!  She loved helping Jack blow out his candles (perks of being big sister).

I always say this,  but Jack is such a happy little guy.  He's always smiling and I love the way his eyes light up when he sees Amy walk in the room.  It's beautiful watching their love for each other grow as they do.

Jack has developed a love of little cars.  He likes to push them along the floor and then chase after them. This entertains him for ages!

He's a great little sleeper and is happy and content in his cot,  with his bear. He loves his bottles of milk and is enjoying his time at day care.

Jack spends a lot of time pushing furniture around the house.  Chairs,  the little blue table,  his highchair, walker and activity table all get moved from one end of the hallway to the other.

I'm sure he will be walking in the next month or two. Exciting times ahead!

It's party time!

Happy birthday Amy and Jack!

Here are some photos from party day.

We had lots of fun celebrating with our closest friends and family.  Thank you to everyone who helped set up or clean up!  We couldn't have done it without you ☺️
All the gifts were beautiful and we thank all of you for your generosity.  Amy and Jack have enjoyed sharing their toys with each other.

There are lots more photos to come but I haven't collaborated them all yet. Here is just a selection.

Happy 3rd Birthday Amy!

Happy birthday to our beautiful little girl!

Amy was excited when she woke up (early!) on her birthday.  Out on the dining table we had set up her presents,  balloons and a cupcake.

She loved opening her presents.  We gave her a scooter,  a car ramp,  some bubbles,  and a wooden house with little drawers for trinkets.

Amy sang along to her 'happy birthday' song and loved blowing out her candles.
She had a fun day with Michael,  Jack,  Nana and Pa, while I was at work.

Happy 3rd Birthday beautiful Amy.

Play pen

I bought this play pen second hand when Amy was about 9 months old. We never really needed it until now. One crawling baby was easy enough to keep an eye on,  but with two kids I'm often torn and can't always watch what Jack is doing.
Play pen to the rescue! It's been so handy for moments when I need to keep Jack in one place.  He recently started disliking his activity centre so I needed an alternative.
I don't confine him too often,  and Amy also likes to have a turn.  Today she wanted to play with a toy that she didn't want Jack to get,  so I put her in the play pen with the toy.
Jack likes to pull up on the bars and stand there looking around, smiling.
