Amy sleeping

This is how Amy likes to sleep.  Bottom sticking up :)

Day care

Amy has lots of fun at day care.  She loves her teacher,  Geeta,  and talks about her a lot.  Amy likes to tell me what she did at school.  I hear interesting snippets of things people have said.  It's funny what she recalls. She rarely sleeps at school but lies down for a rest while the other children sleep.  It's usually only her that doesn't sleep,  but she often wakes late in the morning (7:30-8) so she makes up for it then.  Plus I think she's too excited to relax; there's too much to do!

She likes washing her hands in the little sinks in the bathroom.  She talks to me about germs,  which she sometimes pronounces "goo-erms".
She loves the sandpit and climbing frames too. Yesterday she was helping Geeta tidy up the toys.

Empty bottle

Today Jack loved playing with an empty plastic water bottle.  The plastic makes a crinkly sound which amused him for a long time.

Purple puppy love

Amy has 'rediscovered'  her purple puppy.  It was in the garage for about 6 months as she lost interest.  She saw a photo of it in a book I had made her a while ago.  She said she wanted it again.  She has been having a lot of fun with it (I think it's a girl but Amy keeps calling it both 'her'  and 'him') as you can see from the photos and video.
Purple puppy seems to be breastfed and has to have lots of naps. It also gets fed lunch and milk before being put back to bed (again).

Park fun

We like this new playground.  We went yesterday with some friends and had a picnic in the warm sun.

Blue puppy towel

Amy is outgrowing her baby bath towels. I bought this blue puppy bath towel from Ikea (how could I resist) and she thinks it's wonderful.

I love this one :)

Nanna puppies

Amy gets so excited when Nanna cones to visit.  Nanna always loves getting involved in Amy's games,  reading stories and having cuddles. Amy loves playing hide and seek with her,  and putting clips in her hair.

Amy and Jack together

Amy asked for cuddles on the couch with Jack today.  She thinks he is wonderful and I know she enjoys being 'in charge'  of him.  She brings him toys (and takes them away again) and plays with him.  She dances and sings for him,  and makes funny sounds to make him laugh.  Jack's eyes light up when he sees her.  Today she read him an alphabet book.  She sang the abc song with a shy smile as he watched her intently.

Cute pjs

Jack is wearing some cute pjs that used to belong to Ben and Ethan.  The last few nights have been freezing so we have been putting Amy and Jack in lots of layers.
Jack is in size 1 and weighs almost 10kg. He is 7.5 months old. He has 3 meals a day,  and 3 naps (sometimes 2). He feeds every 3 hours in the day,  and stays awake for about 2-2.5 hours at a time.
He now has a bottle of formula before bed,  which takes far less time to settle him down for the night.  I used to feed him for about 1 hour at bedtime.  Now he drinks a bottle in about 10-15 minutes and goes to sleep.

Talking to Ethan and Ben

Amy likes to chat all day long.  Lately when I have taken her out of her cot,  she tells me she has been talking to Ethan and Ben.  She has a very active imagination,  and I hear lots of talking when she is meant to be napping.  She tells me "Ethan and Ben are my cousins"  and that they came over to her place and they played together in her room.
Amy loves her big cousins,  and talks about them every day.

Amy doing laundry

Today Amy helped me hang out the washing.  She pegged about 20 socks on a clothes horse.  She was quite pleased with herself,  and spent a lot of time perfecting this new skill.

Jack's teeth

Jack has two little teeth coming through now. He's been chewing on lots of toys lately,  but mostly happy.

Park fun

I took Amy and Jack to a new playground today.  Amy enjoyed jumping on the little trampolines in the ground.  The roundabout was also a big hit,  and she laughed so much going on the flying fox (it was a full seat with seat belt). Jack was interested in watching all the children play as he ate his lunch on the picnic rug.

All about Jack

Jack tried some of my toast this morning.  I'm trying to introduce more finger foods so he can practice feeding himself.
He likes to move around on the wooden floor,  and bang toys on it to hear the noise they make.

Hand washing

Here is Amy at day care.  They have been learning about germs this week.  She loves washing her hands and playing with the water and tells me that the germs go down the drain.
