We decided to buy a side by side pram as the tandem pram we have been using is extremely heavy and difficult to get the child in and out of the lower seat. We love our new purchase and so does Amy and Jack. It's quick to fold and almost half the weight.

Amy swimming
Amy is getting very good at swimming. Last week I was able to join Michael at swimming lessons to see how she is going. She has improved so much since I last saw her in the pool. She has gained a lot of confidence with her instructor, Alex.
She received a certificate on Saturday as part of their water safety week. They spend time teaching the kids about being safe in and near water. The kids get to wear life jackets and clothes in the water to experience the difference in buoyancy.
At the end of the month Amy will be moving to a Tuesday 9am class. Saturdays have been quite busy for Michael with swimming, work and soccer so we decided to change days.
Jack
Poor Jack has been bothered by his sore gums lately. There's been lots of dribble (he always wears bibs now) and he bites on everything. He's been waking more frequently in the night again and his bottom gums are quite lumpy at the front. It feels like he has been teething for a long time, I hope he gets some relief soon.
Despite the teething, he's still such a happy little guy, full of smiles.
Amy is always kissing him and playing peekaboo to make him laugh.
He enjoys his solids. He has lunch and dinner and has tried baby porridge, apple, pear, potato, pumpkin, watermelon, carrot, banana, and zucchini.
He wants to sit up in the bath now. I used to support his head as he lay on his back, but he tries to do a sit up and squirms around until he is in the sitting position.
The Wiggles!
On Tuesday we went to see the wiggles at Wenty Leagues. We told Amy we were going to see them and she was very excited. I don't think she understood that they were going to be live on stage, and she was beyond excited when she saw them!
We had a quick lunch before the show started and Jack had a nap in the carrier (which was good timing!). We had a great view of the stage and Amy had plenty of room to dance. Michael took Amy to the shop and bought her a little Emma coin purse. Then the lights in the room went out and the stage suddenly lit up. The music started and the wiggles came out, one by one. Amy was so shocked and excited and kept saying "It went dark and the wiggles came out!". She said her favourite wiggle is Anthony because he is blue.
It was a great performance and very entertaining. Amy danced pretty much the whole time (it was about 45-60 minutes long). She copied the actions and was very excited when she recognised her favourite songs.
We will definitely be going to another wiggles concert in the future.
Jack was curious as to what was going on too. He was happy to watch the show with us :)
Park
Here are a few shots from the park. Amy was quite proud of herself for going on the 'big girl swing'.

Jack is 6 months old!
Happy 6 months Jack!
Wow time sure does fly by. When I look back on the last 6 months I see just how much Jack has changed. Once a tiny helpless baby that required 10-12 feeds every 24 hours, to a strong boy who sits in a highchair and eats solids.
Jack was only a few days late before he decided it was time for his speedy entrance. My labour was fast and Michael and I barely had time to think before he was born. We fell in love instantly with the baby boy we were longing for. Amy filled her big sister role with great pride.
It wasn't long before Jack started smiling and laughing. A few months later he was rolling and drinking from a bottle. He started holding on to toys and playing with them. He now sits for short periods of time and loves interacting with Amy. They laugh at each other as they play. Jack loves watching Amy dance and run, and I'm sure he desperately wants to join the action!
Jack weighs a huge 9kg now which I'm sure is near the top of the chart for his age. He has always been a great feeder and now loves eating baby porridge, apple, pear, potato and pumpkin. He doesn't like formula but happily drinks breastmilk from a bottle. He loves to drink water from his sippy cup.
Jack has 3 naps a day which range from 35 mins to 2 hours. The last month or so Jack has been keeping me busy by waking up at around 5am for the day. Sometimes he sleeps on me on the early morning and doesn't want to go back to bed. Even though it's hard to get up at this time every day (especially when I've been awake in the night with him), I do love the special cuddles we have while the house is quiet and everyone is still asleep.
He is doing really well with his napping and will often go to sleep on his own now. I put him in his bed with a muslin wrap to cuddle and he finds comfort with this. He mostly falls asleep by himself. Sometimes he needs a quick pat or cuddle from me.
He had his 6 months immunisations today. He was very brave! Amy observed the bandaids on his legs and I explained how the doctor gave him medicine to keep him from getting sick. She then to me she needed some nurofen because she felt sick.
Amy adores her baby brother so much. I over-heard her crying to Michael and saying "I want my Jacky bear!" when I was putting him to bed for the night. She loves to cuddle and kiss him and check he is healthy with her doctors kit. He has been given many doses of pretend nurofen.
We look forward to an exciting future as we watch Jack reach new milestones. We love you little man. Keep smiling!
Bubble gun
Amy has a fantastic new toy - a bubble gun! It makes lots of little bubbles when you press the trigger. She thinks it's great!

Jack sitting up
Our strong boy is learning a new skill. He now likes to sit up for short periods (before he eventually falls over!). He's been busy practising over the last few days and is improving very quickly.
Jack's interesting poses
Jack was sitting on the couch next to me and toppled over forward. He was stuck in a funny position. He was laughing and thought it was great fun. Silly boy! He was also very interested in his new slippers.

Jumping castle
Yesterday we went to Mum's place to celebrate Ben and Ethan's birthday, and Mothers Day. The boys loved their presents (superhero toys) and Amy had lots of fun running around the house and playing with them. She loves Ethan and Ben so much and always talks about them. She was so excited when I told her we were going to Nanna's house and they would be there.
Sal brought her big jumping castle with her too. Amy thought the slide was just wonderful. She must have done it about 100 times!
She was still talking about it today. There wasn't time for a nap for Amy, but she fell asleep quickly at bed time!
Jack had 2 naps in the cot at Nanna's house.
Fun outside
It was beautiful weather this evening and we had some fun outside before dinner. Jack enjoyed the swing and Amy danced and ran around with her Peppa Pig dress on.
Jack in the high chair
Look at this cute little guy. Growing up so fast. He ate some pureed apple for dinner tonight and loved it.
