New pram, soft play, and a notebook

As much as we LOVE our beautiful pram (purchased by Nana and Pa), we decided to get a second pram which is a bit lighter and less bulky.

We are still keeping our original pram as its been wonderful, and we plan to use it again!

Amy is very happy in her new pram. She gives lots of smiles and enjoys seeing where she is travelling.

This is a Valco Snap 4. It weighs only 6.5kg and folds up and down with one hand.

Now that Amy is more confident on her feet, cruising along the furniture, she loved visiting a local soft play area.

She had a great time. I watched in amazement how she climbed up some small stairs, and I helped her down a slide.

She watched the other children play and enjoyed cruising along the big blocks.

One day I watched Amy play with my notebook and pen. Who knew it’d be such a great toy!? She played with it for ages, chatting away to herself.

Tunnel fun

When Amy started crawling we bought her a tunnel we saw at Bunning’s one day.

She was scared of it back then, so we packed it away until she was more confident.

Today she had a ball. She wasn’t hesitant at all, and crawled through many times.

Pulling up to stand

Amy has really improved her gross motor skills since I last posted.

She can now get into a proper hands-and-knees position and crawl about a meter. She practices this very often and is progressing quickly!

She can now also go from crawling to pulling up to knees, and pulling up to standing.

It freaked me right out the first time she did it at the baby gate in the kitchen. Suddenly she was standing there laughing away.

After a few bumps to her poor precious head, she can now get back down again too. Hooray!

She LOVES to use the walker and is getting very good very fast! It’s best on carpet so Michael has taken her to Nana and Pa’s house as they have lots!

Finger Painting Fun

Amy was restless one afternoon, so I thought we would do some finger painting.

She wasn’t sure at first, but then started to enjoy it.

Sleepy head

One of Amy’s interesting things she is doing lately is laying her head down on different surfaces.

I’m not entirely sure why she does this. I think she just likes to view things from a different angle. Or she is tired!

She crawls up to me when I’m sitting on the floor, climbs on my lap and rests her head against my chest.

A little cuddle from my little girl.

She also has some very interesting sleeping positions…..

She has been sleeping well for the past 5 or so weeks. She generally sleeps 7-7, which has been lovely!

Getting clever!

Amy has come a long way in the last few weeks! She is now confident to pull herself up to her knees on a lot of the furniture.

She is learning now how to get back down to her belly too.

She loves going over to the shelf and pulling out books. She then slides down to her belly again and reads the books. So cute!

Sometimes she even puts the books back on the shelf. What a good girl Smile

She seems very happy with herself!!

Tonight she thought it was funny to stand and push her activity table along the ground and walk behind it!

I didn’t get a photo but I will try and upload a video soon. She was laughing as she was walking, it was very sweet.

She can get on her hands and knees on the ground but has only done it a few times. She hasn’t crawled this way yet, but she is trying!

It’s Party Time!

Well… almost! We have sent out the invitations to Amy’s first birthday party.

We are trying to keep it small as we can’t have too many people in our little place. We are hoping for nice weather to extend the party out in the courtyard.

Amy and I have been busy shopping for party supplies….

We have been busy planning the birthday cake and starting to think about what food we will have.

It’s going to be such a great day!

11 Months Old!

I can’t believe it! It seemed like only the other day I was putting up a post for 10 months. Where did the last month go?

This little munchkin is getting difficult to photograph on the couch! She kept going onto her belly and trying to crawl away!

On Sunday we went to my cousin Charlottes wedding. Words can’t describe how happy Charlotte looked. She looked stunning in her beautiful white gown and the whole day was just perfect.

Amy attended the wedding ceremony with us as it was in the afternoon. She wore a pretty dress and was happy to look around at all the people in the chapel.

On Sunday evening Michael and I went to the wedding reception while Norma and Brian looked after Amy.

Amy had a lovely time with her Nana and Pa, despite being a little sick. She went to sleep easily and didn’t wake until 7am.

We had a lovely night out (the first one since Amy was born) and I even enjoyed a glass of wine!

Amy was not well on Monday so we decided it would be best to keep her home from day care.

Norma was back at our place at 7:30am to look after Amy all day while Michael and I both worked. What a champion!

We are so lucky to have such loving family who will help us when we need it.

Amy was quite exhausted from being unwell. She almost fell asleep playing with her toys! (It was almost bed time).
