Little Artist

Our beautiful girl is quite the talent! She gave us a lovely finger painting she did at day care. So cute!

Her teachers tell me she was a little unsure at first…

But then got into it….

And here is the finished product, hanging up on the fridge!

They do other arts and crafts at day care. Here is Amy playing with some flour (texture experience)

She’s doing really well at day care now. I start back at work this coming Monday (29/9/14). I’ll be working Monday-Wednesday.

Amy will be going to day care Monday and Tuesday, and will be home with Michael on Wednesdays.

Pulling up to knees

Amy is getting very strong now! After weeks of army crawling she is making some great progress to getting on her knees.

To get over objects such as my legs, her pink baby couch or a cushion, she can now get onto her knees and wriggle her way over.

She’s also now able to crawl over to her activity table and pull herself up to her knees.

We have been loving the warm weather recently, and spending lots more time outside.

We found this tent at a local charity shop for $5 (new in box) and thought it’d be good fun.

Amy’s favourite colours

Over the last few months we have noticed that there are certain colours of toys that Amy prefers. Her favourite choices are blue and purple.

Anything she is playing with that has a variety of colours (e.g. balls, stacking cups) she holds onto the blue or purple ones, and often carries them around.

Its really quite interesting to watch how she makes a point to keep a tight grip on her favourite colour.

She didn’t let go of that blue piece for a long time….

This blue piece was also carried around for a while too…

There are lots of blue toys to enjoy but she also chooses the purple stacking cups and rings.

Newspaper star!

A few weeks ago we heard the news that our local putt putt golf course will be closing.

I found out when i was on Facebook one day, and commented on a post saying that Michael and I had gone there for our first date, many years ago!

A journalist for the local paper ‘Northern District Times’ was doing a story on it, and contacted us and asked if we would like to have our picture in the paper, as well as a short interview for the article she was writing.

We met her down at putt putt and had lots of photos taken. Of course Amy was the star and she snapped this great photo.

Happy girl

Amy has been so happy lately! She has been full of smiles and very chatty!

She has been well and hasn’t been teething, so we are enjoying our days (and nights!).

Here are some lovely photos Aunty Sal took when we went to visit on the weekend. Thanks Sal for the great pics!

Here is Amy modelling some dresses. We were trying to decide which one she will wear to an upcoming family wedding.

That’s a lot of growing! Amy now weights 8.1kg. She has slimmed out a bit due to all the crawling she’s been doing.

Amy surprised her Daddy with chocolates, socks, and a special collection of photos. The top three photos spell the word ‘Dad’.

We put the frame up near Michael’s new piano so he can always admire it.

Amy has been super busy lately as she has learnt to army crawl. She goes all around the living room and up and down the hallway.

She enjoys chasing after toys and collecting things for us which she places in our hands when we say “Ta”.

With this major development also comes a huge change to Amy’s milk feeds. Amy self weaned off breastfeeding at 10 months and now has bottles!

She seems very comfortable with her decision and we have adjusted well to the change.

She eats three solid meals per day and one snack, and has 3 bottles. At night if she wakes she has another bottle and settles back to sleep.
