Lots of smiles

It’s been a busy few weeks since I last updated. Amy had her 6 month immunisations which is never much fun, but she handled it very well.

She had a fever as a result which lasted about 24-36 hours, but she was her usual happy self despite being a bit hot.

She is getting great at sitting and enjoying her solids more and more.

We bought her a swing which she absolutely LOVES – as you can see!

I keep the pillow behind her in case she falls back, but she is very strong now! She often leans forward to grab a toy then sits back up again.

She was so funny with this car the other day. Lots of squeals of delight when she’d hit a button to make it light up.

Enjoying being outside

Now that the weather is cooler it’s a perfect temperature to enjoy being outside.

A few weeks ago we went with some friends to Cockatoo Island. It was a lovely warm day, and Amy’s first time on the ferry.

We had a nice picnic and a walk around the Island.

We have also enjoyed some time in the backyard. Its a nice change of scenery from playing inside.

Amy enjoyed inspecting flowers and leaves (of which she then wanted to put in her mouth).

Its nice to be able to enjoy more awake time with Amy. She is usually awake for 3 hours at a time in the day before needing a nap.

It makes it a lot easier to enjoy daytime activities without being so pressed for time.

Amy had her 6 months check-up a few days ago and is very healthy.

Six Months Old!

Happy 6 Months Amy! It’s amazing to see how much she has changed in such a short amount of time.
She’s now sitting quite well and play time is becoming so much fun. She’s a busy baby closely inspecting all her toys, before they go in her mouth that is!
Amy’s generally sleeping very well. We usually have one feed during the night, but as she gets older she is sleeping right through more and more.

It wasn’t easy getting this photo… all she wanted to do was eat the paper…

Fun times at the park

Today we went to the Bicentennial Park at Homebush to enjoy the sun and have a picnic.

Amy had a lovely time looking up at the trees playing with toys.

Here she is munching on a fresh food feeder. Its a food-safe net bag that you put a piece of soft food in (in this case it was banana).

It’s a safe way for baby to eat pieces of food without choking, and satisfies the need to munch while teething. The food squeezes through the net as the baby chews.
