Fun at the park

Yesterday Sal, Tracie, Ben and Ethan came down to our place for the day. We went to a park near our place and the boys had a nice bike ride.

Amy enjoyed being outside people-watching and admiring the trees. She even had a swing with Aunty Sal and laughed so much, she thought it was fantastic.

Interesting sleeping positions

A few days ago Amy rolled from back to tummy! She’s been trying to do this for a while and finally managed to get the strength to do it.

Now that she is more mobile I’m finding her in interested positions in her cot when she wakes up.

She seems to be a busy girl both day AND night now!

I always put her feet at the bottom of the cot (left bottom of photo) when I put her to bed.

Even a sheet tucked tightly over her didn’t stop her from moving!

While Amy LOVES breastfeeding, we thought we would try some expressed milk in a bottle to see if she’d take it. (The idea being that if I ever have to go out without her I can).

We gave up trying a few months ago because she just didn’t like the bottle, but since she’d forgotten about it, I thought we’d give it another go.

She was quite happy to play with the bottle and munch on it, but screwed up her face when some milk went into her mouth. Oh well, baby knows best!

We will be introducing solids at around 6 months.

Videos

Now that I’ve worked out how to upload videos onto the blog (thanks Sal), here are a few taken in the last few months.

Its interesting to see how much Amy has changed in such a short time. Her movements have gone from jerky to smooth, and she grasps objects easily with both hands (before they end up in her mouth!).

Here’s Amy at 2 months old enjoying her music toy ‘Ellen’.

Here she is at 2 1/2 months doing some very clever tummy time (and coughing)

At 3 months Amy learned how to roll front to back

Apparently the word “Dad” over and over is incredibly funny! (4 months)

Loving the jolly jumper (4 months)

Playing with her feet at 4 1/2 months. They are always in her hands now!

Sorry this ones a bit long! Not sure how to cut it down yet.

Fun times

We have been busy lately! Going to mothers group, swimming, music group, and plenty of walks are keeping our days busy and exciting.

Amy’s recently started holding onto her feet a lot, which is making change time a bit of a challenge! She is loving the jolly jumper which we borrowed off Sal (thank you) and is busy rolling around on the mat.

Swimming with her friends. A funny expression on her face was from tasting the pool water!

New swimming costume… (sorry bit blurry; she’s a quick mover!)

Lets compare…

Here are some photos to show you just how fast Amy is growing…

firstfourmonths

The stats…

Birth – 3.07kg (00000-0000)

One month – 3.5kg (0000)

Two months – 4.5kg (0000-000)

Three months – 5.8kg (000)

Four months – 6.5kg (00)

Four Months Old!

Our little baby is growing up so fast! She’s now 6.5kg and doing a lot of moving around. She can roll tummy to back (some of the time), and has just recently starting rolling back to side.

Not long before she figures out how to roll both ways! We’ve upgraded her from swaddle bags to sleeping bags. She is enjoying the access to her hands.

She’s also very excited about standing. We hold her under the arms and she stands on our laps, and thinks she is very clever! Amy’s other latest discovery is her feet! She’s starting to grab them and study them intensely!
