Amy is excited to return to school full time this week. She has shown amazing maturity by walking in the gate by herself “like a year 6 kid”. Parents have been asked not to enter the school grounds so she has done very well adjusting to this. She’s happy to be back in her class with her teacher and friends. We worked out she has been home since the end of March, so close to two months.
Here’s some photos from the last few weeks before school went back.
Amy reminds me of Dorothy from the wizard of oz in this picture.
We went for a nice bush walk this morning to the creek. Amy and Jack had fun throwing rocks into the water. We made leaf boats and watched them travel down the creek.
Amy saved up lots of money (from doing jobs around the house) to buy herself a sewing machine. It finally arrived on Friday and she has been busy sewing ever since!
She has made some pillows and a blanket for her toys, a bag and a little bean bag (for throwing and catching).
The weather has been beautiful so we have been spending a lot of time outdoors. We went for a nice bush walk and the kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the river. Michael and Amy went fishing too. Amy was very good at casting her line and had lots of fun practicing.
Here she is below wearing some earphones we found in a drawer. She walked around the house listening to music on an iPod, which is tucked in the little pocket of her T-shirt.
We had a lovely Easter weekend at home. The weather was beautiful and we ate way too much chocolate! Amy and Jack both woke early and were tucking into their first chocolate bunnies by 6am.
